School Improvement

The School Improvement Plan is a key school document which details our aims and objectives for the year ahead and the actions we plan on taking to achieve these aims.

Please find below our key priorities and what we want success to look like.

  • TO IMPROVE PARENTAL CONTRIBUTION TO CHILDREN'S LEARNING- For parents to become much more involved in all aspects of their child's education and for parents to be better informed about Nursery life. We aim to do this by developing Facebook, keeping regular newsletters, texts and through gifting linked to our project learning and children's interests. We will also put on events and information evenings to share our practice. Tapestry will continue to be a valuable tool in developing our 2 way conversations.
  • TO ENSURE LEADERSHIP ACROSS DAYCARE AND THE NURSERY SCHOOL IS CONSISTENT The Head, Deputy and Daycare Manager will work closely to ensure teaching and learning for 0-5's is consistently outstanding and that the learning environments are of high quality in all rooms in the Nursery. Through supervision the Daycare Manager will work with the Daycare team to develop their skills and practice with 0-3 year olds. Data will show children make excellent progress with their learning across 0-5.
  • TO DEVELOP CHILDREN'S WELL-BEING AND RESILIENCE                                                             We will commit to our Forest Schools Programme by training a Lead practitoner and use this approach to develop well-being and resilience for all children. We will look at latest research on resilience and produce a tracker that looks at well-being, Involvement and resilience and show how children develop across the year. Children will develop new skills that they can apply across all areas of the Nursery and be happy and motivated in all aspects of their lives. The Reggio approach to teaching will facilitate problem solving, autonomy, exploration and Emneth will be an exciting stimulating place for children.
  • TO ENSURE OBSERVATIONS ON CHILDREN AND DOCUMENTED LEARNING IS EXPLICIT IN DETAILING THE ADULTS ROLE KNOWN AS "TEACHABLE MOMENTS".                                          In the moment planning will be captured and show more clearly the direct impact that the adult has had on a particular learning experience either 1-1 with a child or with a group. This might he adding a resource, making a suggestion, asking a probing question or reflecting together on learning experiences. What difference do the interactions we make have on learning.

All of the staff team will be working hard to achieve these aims and we value your contribution as parents to whole school improvement. Any comments can be shared via the Head Teacher or your key person.
