School Dog

🌟 Meet Millie — Our School Dog

We are delighted to introduce Millie, our friendly school dog. Millie is a gentle cockapoo with a calm, affectionate nature, and she is based in the school office, where she enjoys greeting children, staff, and families throughout the day. At home time, she goes back with Josh, who is her primary carer.

Millie’s presence supports our ongoing commitment to wellbeing, emotional regulation, and creating a nurturing school environment. Many children find comfort in spending a quiet moment with her, and she often helps to ease worries, build confidence, and encourage positive interactions.

Keeping Everyone Safe
The safety and wellbeing of our pupils is always our priority. Before meeting Millie, children are taught how to safely and respectfully approach and touch a dog, following simple, age‑appropriate guidance. This helps them feel confident and ensures Millie remains relaxed and happy in school.

We also have a comprehensive risk assessment and a parent permission process in place. These outline how Millie is supervised, how interactions are managed, and the steps we take to ensure a safe, positive experience for all children.

Families can find more details in the permission letter and risk assessment shared below.
