I have worked extensively as an Early Years Specialist teaching Nursery and Reception aged children as well as an advisor for the Local Authority. My childhood was spent in Melton Mowbray and I moved to Norfolk in 2002. I enjoy travelling and have visited many countries including Australia, India, Vietnam, Borneo, South Africa and Thailand, learning many new insights along the way. I live at home with my Husband Phil, house rabbits Willow and Clover and Cockapoo Poppy.

I have also been involved in the ‘Communication Friendly Spaces’ programme and delivered training throughout the country to support practitioners in developing environments that enable children to maximize their learning opportunities. At present, I am a Trustee of the North Norfolk Academy Trust and the Diocesan PlayVan. Most of any spare time I have is spent with my six wonderful grandchildren.
Emily Wilson- Parent Governor- Training, Special Educational Needs
I am a mum of two children, both of whom currently attend Emneth Nursery. We live locally in Elm and love exploring outdoors and messy play. I am a teacher at the local special school and over the last ten years have worked with primary and secondary students with a wide range of needs and learning difficulties. I feel that the knowledge and skills I have gained since working in education are of benefit to me in my role as a governor here at the nursery and children’s centre.
Claire Hooker- Staff Governor- Data
I have been a qualified teacher for 13 years now and have taught a range of year groups from nursery to year 6, but my real passion is for early years. I completed a degree in Early Childhood studies at Northampton University and then went on to do a PGCE at Norwich University in order to get my teaching qualification. I have lived in Norfolk all of my life and I have two very active boys aged 10 and 7, as well as a crazy dog. I enjoy listening to music, watching theatre shows and going for walks along the coast.
LLoyd Groves- Parent Governor- Safeguarding, Health and Safety
I live in Emneth and I am a former soldier of 12 years and have been a Police Officer for 17 years in the local community. My daughter Connie attends the Nursery. I am also currently a Parish Councillor for the village and in charge of the local playing field committee, therefore have lots of involvement in the local community which is useful for my role on the governing body.
Sarah Fairbrother- Co-opted
I joined as a governor in February 2019. I attended Emneth Nursery School when I was a child and my daughter, Millie currently attends the nursery school. I am a director and solicitor specialising in family law at Ward Gethin Archer solicitors. I have previously been a trustee of both Relate Derbyshire and Relate Norfolk and Suffolk. I have a keen interest in fundraising and hope to be able to support the nursery in raising extra funds to be able to give the children the best experiences at nursery possible
